History
Arab academics are responsible for the earliest documented account of coffee brewed from roasted coffee beans. Making a beverage out of roasted beans is an Arab invention that originated in Yemen and then traveled to Egypt and Turkey before reaching other parts of the world. Strains
One kind of Coffea arabica has a very low caffeine content by nature. These mutant C. arabica plants only have 0.76 mg of caffeine per gram, yet they nonetheless taste like regular coffee. In contrast, the beans of typical C. arabica plants have 12 mg of caffeine per gram of dry mass.
